Glad you enjoyed the session, sorry we couldn't pop back out later but I was just booked solid.
Bit late to tell you now but you have to be really careful with trail-braking in the wet, the grip levels drop of course but not in a linear way, braking grip is generally only reduced by 20% at most whereas cornering grip in the same condition will be nearer 40-50% reduced. You can brake almost as hard in a straight line but as you turn you have to ease off much more.
I had a great day, some very interesting cars. I started the day in a 2007 Audi RS6 and ended it in a 1962 Ford Anglia 105E. All who drove will have seen it c atching multiple slides through the corners, I found out later that this was not the driver gooing around but a consequence of the 1960s suspension and tyres (it is a competition car, classic sprints).
Also just before the close I was in the SaxMax race car with a young 14 year old who has absolutely no fear! Also, having obviously never driven on the road had technique which may have derived from the playstation, thats not meant as a criticism but I do hope he takes up my offer of some coaching.
Some other great cars as well, had a session with Bealo in the CSL, a couple of half session in a Civic Type R (not Alex I don't think). This felt right very familiar having spent 7 hrs racing one in the weekends Britcar 24hr race. I also did a session with Chris' friend in the M6, awesome car. I was telling him and his buddies. I worked at Rockingham when it was a BMW Performance centre where we tested and demo's the full raneg of BMW cars, we had a batch of 30 6's and some M6's before they were released which we did lots of demo days with before BMW took them away and .. crushed them! it's the law, they cant even take any component off them.
Thansk again to all on here that supported the day, hoepfully opentrack and road magazine will be running future events.
