An engine would look good in the back of that. Wasn't aware of these am very impressed, you must have to tie them down if it's windy.Tk wrote:

cheers for the offer stu but i'l pull my finger out and get mine in for repair , i have a sony 9mp digi sitting on the side but just keep forgeting to pick it up whn i head over to the carstuart wrote:Do you want a Nokia N73 to borrow? 3mp I think..........At least you could document your build then
and plus i'd break it
i love that red one and mines not going to be anywhere near that standard
Small one's are more juicy
did i mention they are light  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kg4Zn-vW ... re=related
small update as i managed to do a bit the other day
glass sunroof has now gone and plated over using aluminium sheet and simply riveted on (cheers for sorting the ally stu :thumb: )
as is the hole where the heater used to be
front brakes have been purchased, these are 4 pot wilwood calipers with mountings using 256mm discs and wilwood trackpads, just need some decent hoses
safety 6 point cage is now in my possesion and been trial fitted but need to take it out again as i dont think the scruts will like the way its fitted after looking at a cage fitting guide on clubgti , the bottom 'pads' of the cage sits on the floor and does not need boxes welded in to raise it up, but after a read up ideally they need 3mm plate welded flat to the floor then cage pads sit on this :? i had better do it properly to save being turned away at a sprint after paying my entry
rear coilovers have been fitted and run out of time to put the fronts on
i might get it out on a trackday soon with the standard 8v engine to see how it feels, although i imagine it will be frustrating with little power and being overtaken by everyone

well its moving in the right direction but slowly slowly , seems to be one problem after another
i was hoping to get it out on track as soon a poss with the 8v engine in otherwise i can see me giving up on it
my latest problem is i dont have a set of wheels for it due to the bloody four pot wilwoods catching on them and this cant be cured with spacers either so on the look out for a cheapish set of rims to use for now
its looking a lot better now with the coilovers fitted 8)

the spare drivers door is waiting for its top coat after sorting it out and getting it in primer
alu door cards are cut to shape and ready to be fitted, polycarb is still waiting to be cut, stainless bonnet pins are fitted.
looks like i will be able to get the new seat sitting nice and low

next is to fire up the welder to fit cage perminantly and get box section for seat
also got one of these on its way to me after i had an accident with the plastic header tank

should fingers crossed be out on track soon for a little bit of fun
