Quite how Phil and Dave from Opentrack managed to book in that many cars of wildly differing power levels and drivers with massively different skill/experience levels is beyond me, but, they said they could do it and they did :thumb: Fair play guys.
The mix of cars was staggering; high power GTR's, bike engined track special, most of the UK's allocation of CSLs and more than a few quick Porsche. Cracking.
Etiquette was very good, driver awareness varied but I guess that is inevitable. Stoppages were few and far between and the weather just about held together
From the BP perspective, Bealo looked to be loving the CSL and his confidence levels grew throughout the day topped off with the 30 minute plus marathon effort in one session! It was lovely to see Stu having so much fun and doing so well (Well done mate)
Sideways lived up to his name with a new line through Coram at a shade under 100mph. He was following me (before he left for the green route) around Snettertons biggest bum clencher when his Dunlop slicks just gave up sending careering across the boundary grass towards the tyre wall and armco at big speeds. As soon as I saw him leave the track I slowed after looking in the mirrors and started talking to myself ' Keep it straight Jase, keep it steady.......' True enough he had the same idea and he piloted the car towards the more open area leading back up towards the start finish straight. I was the only other car there, so I saw him back onto safety and he tucked in behind me. Phew!!
Two laps later I fell off again at Russells, with too much throttle and too slow reactions. Plum!
AlexB was Mr Consistent. Lap after lap the type R tore around at a very acceptable rate and Mr Bentley looks completely happy throwing the car around. Lovely engine note under duress too
Christian (Monster) and the 300zx got steadily quicker although the few occasions that I saw him, he seemed to be sliding around under throttle, so I guess he was prioritising pure fun over pure speed
Bladey, oh Bladey. That bloody car let him down again. Blame it on prep, blame it on abuse, blame it on whatever you like. I think the big guy managed two or three laps all day before misfires and clutch issues meant the car got reloaded. Gutted for him but I think the writing is on the wall for the Orange.

Hockey Boy was having a laugh from what I could see. The big R34 looked a bit cumbersome but you couldn't argue with the power and driving.
All in all a lovely day and I hope to be able to drive the car on Sunday for the sprint. There is still a gnats cock of clutch left for one or two runs.
