Here's an update for you.

We've found that the standard Oil Pump is an issue in Evo's that are used hard, particularly on track and rather than pissing around, it's been truly FIXED.

I'll let the pics do the talking.....

So, it's now Dry-Sumped. The kit is largely that from Pace, but it's needed modifying as they are designed to run on a car with fairly standard configuration, in terms of turbo/exhaust/pipework etc. We weighed up various locations for the tank, but due to its size and after MUCH deliberation, we opted for mounting at the front of the car, where you see it. It's been a nightmare to fit, with lots of alteration and fabrication along the way, which is hard to show in a few pics, but it's now all back up and running.

The tank holds 12 litres and the 2 coolers that can be seen behind the Intercooler are for Oil and Power Steering. It's actually questionable from how it looks right now as to whether you'd even need an Oil Cooler!! I guess only time will tell.

The tank on the inner wing was custom made. The rear section carries Power Steering Fluid and the front section is a Breather Tank.

This conversion also necessitated altering the turbo elbow, which now looks slightly different from how it came in the kit. Loosely the same, but improved.

I hope you like.:top:

(there are still one or two odds and ends to finish, seen in the pics

You truly are mad :wack:

It will be wonderful to see you wringing the cars neck, presumably on the 22nd. I just hope the performance and reliability rewards you in the way you deserve.

With that sort of quantity of oil, at least the temperatures will be a concern of the past.

Roll on Monday week. Please build up to it gently ;)

That looks awesome Gary. I bet you are pleased with it even though it was problematic to install. Should sort out the oil temps :D
