Great fun indeed with more to come. Much more

It really makes such a difference when you're out there with mates though; that's the clincher. Trackdays and sprints would be dull without that in my opinion.

Lol, I had a great string of excuses ready and you go and trump the lot. :D

Some videos i took during second practice in the morning whilst I still had Jim as a second marshal with me (so our post was sufficently manned whilst i had the camera in hand  ) All taken at the gooseneck:

Matt in the S2000
Image

Brian Winston in the GT3 RS
Image

Colin in the Cozzie, trying very hard, not a one off misjudgement, he was driving like a madman on every run!
Image

Adam in his Celica GT4 165
Image

Logan with tyre squeel & plently of commitment
Image

Kim with even more tyre squeel & even more commitment; i didn't see any break lights :o
Image

Gerry in the wagon, sorry about poor filming, i nearly completley missed your run, nothing so reasuring as to know the marshals are benig vigilant  !
Image

Stuart pressing on in The BMW
Image

A couple of guys i know well who were competing in their Judd Powered Gould in the National class, they weren't pressing too hard as it's practice but were really pressing on in thier timed runs & during the shoot out.

Bill Oliver (father) The self professed "tyre warmer"
Image

Matt Oliver (son) Won the NAtional championship last year, just pipped this year by Rob Jr. in a newer Judd powered Gould but with a few more driver assists Eg. Traction Control

Marshalling wasn't as much fun as competing but was still enjoyable & the weather behaving probably helped. Our post (Gooseneck approach) was quite "busy" during first practice as people were runnning out of grip & talent on the damp track & not making the gooseneck......could have been worse, i could have copped for a really dull bit of track or collecting up bits of bunny after it met with a single seater :o

Great to see BP out in force :P

Thanks for the videos :thumb:

I really need to get a camera fitted again. Just watching the differing lines on that one section showed such a variety of driving......it would be helpful to analyse what I'm doing (and doing wrong)

Maybe a pooled fund for a performance box and camera if there are a few of us doing this next year??

I was thinking about buying a datalogger as i would love to know more about each run's terminal speeds, apex speeds Etc. So on a reccomendation from a fellow competitor in the Toyota Sprint Series i've been looking at this box of tricks: http://www.performancebox.co.uk/

Seems to do quite alot for the price, but with the BMW being RWD it may be worth spending a bit extra on the Driftbox so you can see what angles of sidewaysness you have achieved

Thanks for some great vids - at least I didn't lose the second or so at the Gooseneck...

Squealy tyres confirms my decision to get geometry looked at this week... just in time to knock it all out again over NWeald bumps.
