If your out and about in the future Gerry call in at another Halfords some are more understanding than othersHad a look at the possibility of a trade card but you need to prove either you work in the trade, with paslips to support it or, a stack of recent receipts from local motor factors.

" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
does anybody actually own or use the halfords tools or work with them on a regular basis? i was eying up some tools in halfords, well it was actually a socket /spanner/screwdriver/alankey ans something else set and was wondering about the quality of them before i splashed out on them, they give you a life time warranty so i suppose halfords must be quite confident in them?

I miss my scooby

The professional range is very good. The lifetime guarantee is just that. Bust it, they replace it.
They have some good offers from timt to time so it's worth taking a look on line. Unless you can get the trade card.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
cheers, will look into getting some tools next time im flushGerry H wrote:The professional range is very good. The lifetime guarantee is just that. Bust it, they replace it.

Dunk, Halfords pro stuff is spot on.
Gerry, look from the wheel arch side and there is very thin piece of metal shield that goes down from the chasis leg, it can be seen easier if front arch liner is removed or look at it from the headers side.
Bend this out of the way, up towards the wheel and it makes life a whole lot easier. Just remember to bend it back or your wheel/tyres will hit it.
I have done it with normal spanners before (took an age) but bought a half moon fixed spanner a long while ago and its a doddle now.
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the info Steven. That confirms what Frayz was saying but I didn't even think to look for access panels when I tackled the job. Ramp is booked for tomorrow so I'll check that it's there although, with the Halfords gadgetry, I suspect it won't be needed.
