It's to get to the top nut & bolt, of a three bolt flange, that attaches the headers to the up-pipe on a Scooby. There's no room for a spanner to get any leverage.
One side (by collector) can only be held with a short open ended spanner. The other side I used a fixed Crescent shaped spanner but the amount of movement is minimal and the angle makes it very difficult.
When I fitted the engine back into the car, at Stu's lock up, I used his Halfords Professional half moon ratchet and it was a doddle.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
