Got home a wee while ago, fully goosed after my busy last few days.
Good fun today. Gutted for Trevs damage on his last run, and someone said Russell had some damage caused by the stacked cones as well, bit of a bugger.
Myself and Mr Adams again did battle with him just coming out top by 13 hundreths due to a bit of rain before the last timed run which meant when we went out it was slighty damp, just enough to take away a bit of grip.
As always there was more time to be had, but my abosoluely rubbish starts due to the new twin plate clutch didn't help
I'll let everyone else tell their tales in their own words.
Sevenoaks North Weald 31st August
Got to get myself to one of these sometime soon maybe just as a spectator to start with to see what the crack is..
Whats up with the clutch my twin plate loves a launch?
Good result baz?

" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
Sorry to hear about Trev and Russ. I hope that the damage to both cars was only superficial.
Nice result Logan. I know you would only be satisfied with a first but 13 hundredths is bloody close and Kim......well Kim is a great opponent, as you well know.

i was all out in the last run with only 2 tenths to make up for a bit of silverware but i blew it, never mind settle for 4th was also happy to make up 3 seconds in the timed runs compared to practise
well done to everyone who had a result, i look forward to the next battle i attend

Cocking about around cones... not my favourite pastime and I can't believe I am to do it again twice before the season ends.
Trev's, Lord Houghton of Bedford's and Russell's damage shows the perils and I am struggling to find the pleasures.
As always nothing between Logan 'half my weight. half my age' Black and myself and I just snatched it after I tidied everything up atfer a scruffy and wild first timed run. Thought it was all over after 1st timed runs as the black clouds loomed. Psychological rain - on windscreen but has no effect on grip - put paid to banzai third runs which probably shows how close to the limit our best times were. I won't pretend there was loads of time to come - only one or two seconds...
Unlike proper 'no 'kin cones' tracks it is so easy to lose time in the 1st gear autotest parts that no amount of cojones through the one fast corner can make up.
Roll on cone-free Brands, Cadwell and Lydden.
My very early New Year's resolution is not to compete at tracks with cones...
Who else will take the pledge?
On another note, I don't like cheats, but I thought the way 7Oaks dealt with the Bill McKenna sequential gearbox 'protest' was appalling. On the information I got he was guilty until proven innocent. Not even a fun run was allowed. Disgraceful.

Just home after popping in to see my Mum.
The drive home was very steady and sedate due to horrendous rain and thunderstorms. Standing water was quite deep in places as the rain was falling so fast. I'm amazed at how well 888s cope with these conditions.
Back to today and rather embarrassed to receive an award for 1st in class. Hit a cone on the first run that lodged itself under the car. I feared for the oil cooler lines as they hang down from the filter plate before following the sub-frame to the cooler. I stopped to let the marshall try to dislodge it and, after his vain attempts to shift it, was told to drive on. No sooner set off than the cone popped out from under the car.
After that first, aborted, timed run, the exhaust header was blowing again. I tightened the fixing nuts during the lunch break but the fear of puling the threads from two of the three studs meant it is far from satisfactory. Best time of the day was my second practice which saw me a few tenths behind Kim & Logan but, as they went quicker in the next two runs, I went slower
Well done all who participated I'm sure most of the 'also rans' in B3 deserved an award more than me
One sour note. Bill McKenna in his beautifully turned out Porsche was protested for his sequential gear change. Apparantly the scrutineers allowed it but the CoC said no and wouldn't let him switch classes. All rather petty at basic level motor sport and it's not as if the bloke ever wins anything
Roll on Cadwell :-D

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
