What a 24 hours or so!!

A potted history of my recent automotive hurdles

Bought big brakes>had wrong hubs
Bought right hubs and fitted brakes>wheels don't clear them
Buy spacers to clear brakes>wheels now hit bodywork
Hit bodywork with hammer>wheels kind of fit. Paint looks sad

Also noted that one brake line died in the line of duty. Replaced brake line (2nd time lucky, thanks Rob :thumb: )

That brings you up to last night.

Pete was towing the Sierra and I was towing the BM. The sat-nav threw a wobbler near the Fens and launched the pair of us across 20+ miles of snaking fen roads and at least 40 minutes on our journey. Awesome :wack:
We eventually find humanity and get onto a main road only to get stitched up again near Horncastle. This was later traced to Pete requesting the fastest route VIA CAR, not via 30 odd foot long concertina weighing 3.5 tonnes!

At around 10.30pm Lord Houghton called to have a quick natter and we exchanged bullet points and pleasantries and promptly got cut off. The sat nav showed just over 8 miles to go :D Nearly there!

I looked in my rear view and Petes familiar headlights were nowhere to be seen. I called him. Nothing. Moments later he rang me, out of breathe and slightly stunned. Two of his trailer wheels had fell off, very nearly dropping the Destroyer (Sierra to you newbs) on to the road. As it was we had to patch up the trailer with spare wheels, nuts and anything we could find.

This terrible luck had killed Petes mood stone dead and we the subsequent damage to the Sierra, he went straight home and there was nothing I could do to stop him. No amount of persuading would do it, so after 3 hours of driving there and

Looks like you all had fun and some great pics there.

Stu those front wheels must be rubbing on the arches or it must be blooming close !!

That focus looks mullered !!

Stu, the car looks great and those little issues will be sorted in no time I'm sure. However, I believe you need to get the front wheels spaced further so they're properly proud of the wings ;)

Tommy

I see your point  I had hoped that 1" clear at the fronts and flush at the back would be a strong enough stance, but I think you're right. Time to find a wide arch kit me thinks

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
