yeah - it did 176 miles on track and didnt miss a beat all day long apart from one nervous driver that complained of a fuel cut at 4750.... lots of head scratching and looking at the logs and it transpires he was riding the clutch pretty heavily and it was triggering the Flat Throttle Shifting mechanism :lol:ScoobieWRX wrote:140 LapsThat's got to be worth a lifetime supply of WD-40

I had trouble getting Phil out of the car at the end of the day, he wanted to take it for one more stint around but with the fuel needle below the empty mark !! I thought it was wise not to. I can safely say that the swirl pot solution works

So you get traction control at 4750...excellent!! Swirl pot sounds like a must buy and clearly was well worth it's weight in gold!!
You car must be going really well Duncan for the Glew Man to want to keep hammering round in it. You must be feeling really chuffed and encouraged by that in as much as it's got to be uber quick now and pretty damn reliable with it. Looks like he's properly run it in for you and bullet proofed it!! 140 laps and still fresh as a daisy, cracking stuff. Fair play to Area52, they've built you a hum dinger of a lump!!
Bet you're looking forward to your ring trip now!!
The phoenix has risen and is taking flight!! Nice one!! :thumb:

Ok - spent the whole day unbolting the turbo as on the way home from Brands it decided to make zero boost whatsoever. Nothing, Nada, Zipdynamix wrote:Not perfect and definitely not quite bullet proof - there is a problem with the car but until I can unbolt some bits to diagnose it I wont go into details here.
Anyway, I was offered facilities at Zen today to take it off and borrow one of their spare turbos to get me to Germany this week seeing as it happened after the sponsor day.
Taking the turbo off was easy (ish) and when it was finally levered free of the engine the much expected broken shaft did not reveal itself.... instead a chunk of metal fell out of the exhaust housing rather chewed and mangled. After a thorough counting of blades on both compressor and exhaust wheel - the source of said metal was obvious. Fekking lambda sensor.
Sure enough - undoing the std lambda sensor from the headers revealed the missing tip of the sensor. Bugger. Could have happened at any time to any turbo - just fcuking sods law. It had jammed itself in the exhaust wheel and stopped it spinning (once it had lunched the blades)
Anyway - sensor replaced with a bung and a few short hours later the garett cored ball bearing MD321 was fitted.
This would be interesting.
Drive home was fun having boost again

Duncan...Cojones mate
You haven't had a huge amount of luck with it have you. You certainly like munching turbos. I would be interested to find out how you find the the MD321 compared to the HTA.
Good luck getting it together for the ring :thumb:

Bugger!! It might be an H then. Oh well.....i'd still be interested to know what you think of it. You'll get a chance to find out at the ring :thumb:
Now if it was a 321T+ it might just be comparable to your HTA
