Looks great Jamie

Love the Advans :thumb:

Interesting that you bailed out on the Monaro so quickly. Best of luck with the car.

Do you get most of your bits from the US becuase of the favourable exchange rate or just a better choice of bits?

I was gonna say that I wouldnt bother with the AEM, the RPS Clutch and the Driftworks oil cooler.

But as you already have them I guess I wont :D :D

Either you have a decimal place wrong or you've been had on the clutch.....

http://www.srbpower.com/rps/max-street.php

Best of luck with the build, I have loved all the supras/JZ engined cars I have driven, but I wouldnt say that a 600bhp one is particularly cutting edge !! Its just turbo injectors and management on those monster engines !!

Can i have your reasons why? and who said it was "cutting edge"?

Driftworks oil cooler kit is a mocal unit, used the same unit before and worked great.

Ive used AEM a few times and like the unit and so does my mapper so sticking with what i know.

RPSstreet max is tried and tested in the supra community as being a very nice clutch to get on with and will hold 600bhp easy. lots of big power supras with them.

Clutch price has alread been explained further up, that price is the turbokit/ic and clutch.

Thanks for your concerns.

Im being harsh with the "cutting edge" comment I think. I took the thread and your detailed build up so far as a kind of "look im doing something different" kind of thing and I guess thats not the case and as such I thought you were making more of it than it was, so apologies for that.

The "Driftworks" oil cooler kit is indeed a mocal kit and hence you have answered your own question as to why i wouldnt bother - because most businesses arent charities and Driftworks is not exactly a large company and hence a kindly word with Apex or someone else alot bigger might have got you a better deal on the same kit but with perhaps one less middleman taking a slice.

All the mappers I know who have used AEM, seen AEM, or got involved with AEM reckon its little more than a toy and not worth using for anything more powerful than a toaster unless you like rebuilding engines or not getting best performance out of them.

RPS is fine for amoddestly upgraded car but IMHO anything thats going to have real power and get used with real gumption should be running a "proper" clutch such as an OSG, ORC, HKS, Cusco etc multiplate that can deliver the goods time and again when its on the track, strip or whatever. Its a personal thing from someone who just likes the security of heavier grade engineering I guess !!
The price bit I missed, and

Aw bless ya little cotton socks !!

You gave me negative feedback. :D :D :D

If my comments are the worst that happens to your car then you will have done a good job !!! Probably best you dont post too many threads up on public forums though as i'd hate to see someone say something REALLY negative or nasty about ya else your modem might explode in digital fury !!

pmsl !!

Ive been doing supras a long time and know what works on them, im happy with the oil cooler price, thats why i brought it.

Again the AEM is tried and tested, i had it on my last 600bhp supra for 2 years and never had a problem with it, the fastest supra in the country runs AEM.

Again the clutch is tried and tested, in my last supra i had an exeddy twin and it was a pita, i hate noisy clutches.... the rps is on the limit but as they are nice to live with i can live with changing it once a year if needed, many big power cars have that run that clutch for years with no problems.

As or the negative feedback i feel your post was put in for one reason, to get a rise out of me, (it worked ) so i thought id do the same
