Spent about 2 hours on the car this morning, that was all it took for us to come to the conclusion "It's toast" :(

1. There are 2 separate problems with the fueling system
2. Knackered water pump
3. Possible damage to a piston / head gasket
4. The turbo is picking up 5 psi of boost when revved standing still

On the up side we did get to see flames shooting out of the exhaust

It's been a while since the engine died and to be honest we're not as far forward as we had planned infact nowhere near :( . We had hoped to have an engine fitted by last weekend to allow us to run at Trax and snetterton in september. We have now pulled out of both those events to concentrate on having the car ready in some form for the last round of the TA in october.

Due to holidays and Alans working pattern the engine will now hopefully be fitted in the next 2 weeks :) . We realised this weekend that we needed to change a bracket behind the dashboard to house the ecu, so whilst doing that we thought we would test fit the new dash as well to see if it did reduce the reflection on the windscreen.

what a pain the the backside it was to get out and fit back in but its well worth it
as its done its job by reducing the shine that the old dash gave.
