...........as I sit here, ready to go down to the unit for round 32 of the Self Inflicted Injury Sprint and Track car championships, a few 'uh-oh's' have dawned on me.
How can you noise test your car if you have no revs to go by? No dash fitted in the BM yet, so that could be interesting
Does anyone have any experience of getting an MSA logbook for a non-road legal car? I have spoken to a couple of the scrutineers about the car when last at Debden and they were very 'yeah, yeah that will be fine'. Great at the time but with the event looming, nerves are fraying like high tensile steel cable in a disaster movie

Mot?? You must be having a laugh mate  You wait til you see the car. In terms of a scrutineer, both Lloyd and Mike at Debden were very helpful and both suggested that there was little too worry about as long as the car is up to standard and in a 'roadworthy' condition. We'll see I guessblacky wrote:Hmm, revs, tricky one, I reckon you could get away with just holding them at a certain level.....can't you get the basic dash back in tehn Stu?
Logbook, think you just have to get a MSA Scrut to come check it over. TBH tho I would imagine it may be easier to just make the thing legal and MOT it???
The wiring loom of the car has been paired back to such an extent that there is no easy way of getting an original dash back in there, but this is being looked at tonight (News to you eh Gary?

I had to get a log book for my 7 when I wanted to run it on slicks. All that was required then was a scrute, some cash and and picture of the car. The pic was then vital although things may have changed as this was '98.
The car already complied with regs for roll cage, fuel lines, bulkheads, fire extinguishers etc and it was simply a bit of paperwork that had to to be done.
A car never been run before or scruted might be another matter.
When all else fails reach for the MSA Blue Book...

Hehehe, you looked pretty decent hustling the Golf round last time, you just need some competitive kit!
I have to say, I almost admire how much "messing" about with cars you do. I really couldn't do it. Don't suppose you fancy bolting the Impreza back together for me, you know just to keep your hand in
Fair enough....but its there for you if you want it, for wery wery special plrice Mister :!:
