Thanks for the comments guys, I have found the hardest thing so far is to take time, it would be so easy to jump to the next step just to progress the car without finishing what I have done properly. I have had to concede some of the quality of the work as I was seriously taking too long on certain bits and at the end of the day I have to accept that the car won't be perfect but it will be as good as I can get it without sending it to someone else to do the work.
The idea of buying the right tools is to learn as I go for future use, this is also draining funds and slowing things down but I can't believe how much I have learnt already and this will be invaluable for looking after the car when it's done
I have enjoyed it so much - so far - that I have spoken to Jo about maybe taking on another project once this has been done.

Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.

Phil, I know what you mean about tools. My recent WRX to STi conversion required lots of new tools, and when i totted up the cost+ VAT i was gobsmacked to find out just how much i had spent. It's a labour of love and deep pockets!!! :thumb:
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Got the welder fired up this weekend and made up some support rails just incase I decide to bolt anything to the floor, fuel pumps etc, also welded in the harness fixings and masked up the cage. Next step will be to start putting back the tin work and underseal the rear end

For the love of God

This makes my BM look like a right dogs dinner. Superlatives were exhausted a while ago Fil. Thoroughly enjoy reading and seeing how it should be done. Well done mate :thumb:
