Lol, yeah mate its just a dust coat. It will be much darker, richer like the OEM colour when the topcoat goes on.

I hope anyway its a bit bright at the moment :D

I could do with an uprated Engine pitch stabiliser link.

I have seen some similar ones but they are made from billet aluminium, the engine end of the link is solid and it's only bushed at the bulkhead end.

Any thoughts on that??

I might just do that Duncan.

It seems a better idea to have it solid one end for even less flex than having 2 bushes. At least if there is a bush at the bulhead end it will cope with the vibration coming through from the solid end.

We used to do this many years ago on minis and they had 2 pitch stabaliser bars made of metal.

You get two very thick washers, weld the small tube that goes through the original bush to the inside of one washer, then weld that to the engine end of the pitch bar, weld the other washer on the other side and job done!! Run the bolt through and it's as solid as a rock.

It's a shame you cant do that with the OEM one's as the bar is plastic.

Nice thread Frayz, but... that Spec C manifold looks really really rubbish and you would be far better off swapping it for a really really cool 8cm housing :woohoo:

Lol, nice try Jase...

I'll be sure to post you some extra nice pics once its all smooth and painted ready for assembly.

Today saw a little more progress.

I inspected the block and measured the bores on 8 points on each bore, i also measured the main bearing liners in situe so i could calculate the crankshaft running clearances.
Once all that was sorted i washed the block in the hotwash, oiled the bores and bagged it ready for assembly.

Another note, i colected my clutch today from Mocom.

Its a new Exedy Hyper twin plate. It comes with 2x 6 puck cerametalic driveplates, flywheel bolts, a lightened billet flywheel and the prettiest pressure plate available lol.

Im taking the time to show you guys now as it wont ever bee seen lol :D

I put it on the scales just for fun, the complete assembly comes in a a featherweight 10.2kg :D
