STi Time Attack 2008 - new dyno figures !!
The point is no spool up 8)neilK wrote:Duncan,
I must be missing the point, but if you still have to use the clutch, then what advantage is there?
Unless this is tied into the antilag, thereby maintaining boost?
Power shifting on a bike is great, but thats with a sequencial box, ignition cut when gear lever pressed.
The car will always be on boost Neil. If you lift off of the gas the boost pressure is dumped by the DV and when the gas is reapplied the car will take time to boost again. When youre filling a FMIC as big as the APS its probably quite nice to have full throttle shift.neilK wrote:Duncan,

~ To do ~
hmm only a few days to go and a fair few things to do:
1. completely finish mapping if I can get the maf to a stable condition (something weird going on with this)
2. boxing for oil cooler
3. change oil
4. spray track wheels again
5. fit new mounts for gearbox and engine

Will be the MAF sensor then Duncan.
I had the same issue when the original MAF sensor on the car started to read very low. I cleaned it but that made no difference and cocked up my mapping bigtime. I got another MAF sensor from Andy at Grade-A Subaru and it didt he job. It's still working today.
Brand new they are ridiculous money,

Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Waiting now for another execution date!!:headhack:

Nice figures on the HTA Dunc, if you have anymore info/logs I will pass it on to Robert at FP as I'm sure he would be interested.
My butt dyno tells me my HTA is not far off the Red in terms of peak power potential. Midrange is really the killer, easily 500ftlb - that's 625ftlb in your money Duncan :P
BTW the ported shroud cover may be influencing your MAF readings.?
Jase.

I am not sure that this is it Jase - bit difficult to explain but it has gone severely rich without any kind of change to the map in that area.
Going to go back a few iterations on the map and see whether I can get to the bottom of it and isolate other influences.
Oil Cooler Ducting
In order to help draw air through the oil cooler I have built some boxing around the rear of the cooler from nice ally sheet. This sits around the extraction vent on the side of the front bumper.
A quick road test wasnt particularly conclusive, but it cant hurt.
One off the list.
