Joking aside I do read most of the project threads. But even he who wears the S on his chest can't read and absorb everything :D

Mine is a JDM set without TGV's - it makes a good difference to the flow and doesnt seem to affect idle negatively either. I didnt polish the outside of it though.

STD TGV runners would not fit with the APS hard inlet pipe.

Thats some piece of kit !!

Frayz you certainly are a perfectionist !!! I couldnt see any marks from the first pic !

Will you be doing it red, the same as before ?

Are you going to powdercoat it ?

Ive called around to get it powdercoated mate but nobody keeps the wrinkle red. I can have gloss or metalic but i want the textured finish like the OEM item.

I was thinking of doing it wrinkle black but i think it might be all a bit too black under the bonnet if i do. VHT do a high temp wrinkle red paint so i think im gonna go with that so its as close to new as possible.

Im gonna bead blast the manifold today so the finish is consistent and then prep for paint. Just gotta wait for the paint to arrive now.

Im thinking of having the rest of the under bonnet brackets powdercoated wrinkle black though.

Glass bead blasting will make that manifold shine!! Be a shame to paint it when you'll be getting it all nice and lovely :D

Tell you what though, that inlet manifold is sex on legs!! :thumb:
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Waiting now for another execution date!!:headhack:

Got a bit more done today guys.

I managed to bead blast the manifold so it nows has an even finish all over. I oil stoned all the machined faces too so they are all flat and true.
It was then re-washed and masked up for some paint.

Im looking to get it looking as close to original as possible so i took the time to mask all the machined faces apart from some which i think would look better painted. It then got a light coat of etch primer and a light dusting of red basecoat. This should provide a good base for the crinkle red finish.

I'll leave it to dry for a day or so now before i put on the wrinkle finish top coat :D
