Welcome, nice looking car you have.
I am sure you was giving a large back fire at the pit wall straight purely for a bit of public show off!

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the welcomes - didn't get online at all over the weekend.

Glad I was obviosuly mapping and not just mimsing :)

In answer to a few points:

Stuart - yeah I'll try and get some pics up at some stage if I get a chance - weekdays are a bit busy for me. The car has changed a fair bit since the article, especially in that the engine we were mapping has only just gone in. I blew the last one up after 3 track days on the slicks - that's what you get for loads more grip and not watching your oil pressure guage in the corners

However, it gave me the incentive to go for big turbos (which in answer to JohnnyR - you cant' get to at all) and a full build so looking forward to geting it running properly and seeing what it'll do.

The backfires were of course all do with the mapping and nothing to do with being next to the pit wall :D

Cheers

Get yourself an Accusump :thumb: Those things are mega :D

Used and relied upon for years. If you want more details look at Think Automotive on Google or Canton Racing in the States

I would not use a car hard on a race track without one now.

Sounds good, never heard of them.

I had a bit of trouble finding a baffled sump for the ZX when I was looking and ended up having one made - fingers crossed it does the job but the guy who built it does loads of motorsport stuff so I'm quietly confident....... If not then accusump here i come - via the bank :?

That doesn't sound bad at all - and it's always good to have stuff like that recommended by those who know.

Had mine done by (and i need to check the company name is right as I was intro'd direct to the guy via peter) x works in Maldon. Sure he'd be a useful guy for people on here to know as he undertakes all things motorsport, including works teams and even some stuff for mainstream manufacturers.

He did my sump after building a full external roll cage for my off roader (other money draining hobby) and i saw that there was a few others on one of his benches.
