328i Sport track project - Cadwell June 09
Forgive me if you have already covered this, but do you use anything in addition to the norm for engine or driveline cooling?
Bigger rad
oil cooler for diffs etc?
I have sorted a bigger radiator for mine, largely becuase it was cheaper than an OE one and I'm about to buy two oil coolers, one for the engine as the OE one looks a bit passed is best and one for the rear diff as I understand that they can get very hot (from the Kumho boys)

Oops I never replied to this. I have done nothing to improve the cooling.stuart wrote:Forgive me if you have already covered this, but do you use anything in addition to the norm for engine or driveline cooling?

Spent some time on the car today doing some weight saving. Thanks go to Stuart and Jason for their guidance by PM however I've decided to get some pins before I start cutting at the bonnet and boot. However, today, I thought I'd give the front bumper a go. I removed it easily enough and removed the bar from inside the bumper. Then I went to put the bumper back only to realise I need part of the bar to fix it - doh! So, after swatting up on Jason's thread and realising I needed pins (again) I decided to just cut the ends of the bar off and put it all back together. I also removed the slatted grill.
Time spent - 3 hours
Weight saved - 1.5 kgs
BIG WOW

Thanks Rob. Just don't look at it up close.
Well, the last trackday of this year is going to be this Sunday (Donington), after which, we're taking inspiration from Jason and Stuart and taking the car into the garage over winter and making the final step of turning the car into a trailer queen.
The car is going up to Cheshire to spend the winter with Chris who will hopefully 'get medieval' on its ass. There will be no pennies spent per se (no new engine, diff or anything like that!), just a completion of weight removal and a proper respray of the interior. I won't say watch this space because it's more likely, see you around April 09!
