the only place that it will start will be where the welds have burn't it off .

For all the current and future E36 owners, here's how SHP sorted the seat runners in my car. It's particularly tricky because you need to get the driver's seat as close to the trans tunnel as possible which required SHP to cut, reverse and reweld the trans tunnel side seat mount.

Close up of passenger side runner closest to trans tunnel. The rearmost hole is for the harness lap belt. The forward hole is for the side mount for the seat

Trans tunnel runner welds directly to the old subframe

Door side runner required some extra work

And this is the work required at the back of the runner

These are views of the driver's side with the seat attached




Here you can see how the trans tunnel driver's side mount had to be cut in half, reversed and rewelded to ensure the seat is properly aligned with the steering and pedals

And here's some to show how the sunroof was welded in
