Thanks to Paul at Zen for re-syncing my keys with my old ECU - the ecu that had been fried and now repaired by Tactrix over in the USA for a measly sum and loaded with my last iteration of my map for me.

Drove home from Northampton beautifully :D

Let the map tweeking re-commence 8)

New laptop (well new to me anyway) arrived today and just loading a fresh copy of XP on it and all the other software and drivers.

A fresh revision of the map has been done and is ready to be flashed tomorrow :)

Download the latest v.5 RR and it has the Ramtune application.

You'll have to know the ROM hex address lines for each of the map functions and type them in individually to pull them up as you go along. I have been looking for a fuller explanation of the workings of before i start to play but no joy just yet.

If you find anything let me know otherwise i think it's just a case of plying with it :o

The hex addresses will be different between our two ecu's.

I would rather just use EcuFlash as it works out of the box.

RAMTUNE is real-time tuning. I would make adjustments in RAMTUNE that are held in the ROM's RAM until the ECU is reset. Then when you are happy with the settings I think you can write those adjustments to the static map and re-flash with the new settings.

Some of the main variable settings from the static map like Boost, WGD, AFR, Timing, etc are normally held in RAM while the ECU is running (stuff i know you already know about intimately Duncan so not trying to teach to suck eggs :D ) and it's these variables, if i have read correctly, that are being adjusted manually using RAMTUNE. Seems like a good way to cut down the trial and error process a bit more.

I think with ECUtek you make the adjustments like RAMTUNE but then write them to the static map when ready as a built in press and go all-in-one function. I don't think RAMTUNE does that as yet so you would still have to write those settings in afterwards and then flash. I know it's still long winded but every bit helps and it's another step closer to proper real-time tuning without the expense.

The last time i read which was a while back they were trying to work out a way to make maps switchable but i can't remember if that was for the 16-bit or 32-bit ecu.

Look forward to hearing some more about your Dynamix powered maps!! :thumb:

A nice saturday pm job

With some of the leftover ally/plastic composite sheet I decided it was time to make some end plates and canard type attachment for the splitter.

It proved quite tricky as the shape of the v limited lip on the bottom of the bumper was awkward but I got there in the end.

OSF one:

From above showing the upsweep of the canardy type thing (not sure whether this is a true canard) and the edge of the end plate:

The end plate nicely attached:

I doubt whether I will notice much if any difference but it beats watching euro 2008 :D
