Just wondering if any one has timed there car around the track before/after fitting a front splitter are universal ones available?
What effect it had on the car does it have to be a certain size/ would you then need to fit larger rear wing (don't really want to do this)

Havent timed a before and after but you can see from the pictures of the TA cars at Silverstone on the straight just how much the front splitter is bowing down at the centre. Whether we are all using this extra downforce is up for debate but it is there for use 
You can do a lot of improvements to the aero without having to resort to huge rear wings. A simple gurney flap on the rear boot or existing spoiler makes a huge difference.

They can make a difference, the key word is CAN !!!
Also any aerodynamic device tends to only have influence at 80mph and above unless absolutely huge, and even then only modest effects until over the ton.
The downside is obviously drag and possible unbalance within the car at various times as the different aero take effect at different speeds yaw angles and so on. As far as front splitters are concerned they have more to do with adding to the overall package rather than simply front downforce on their own and have a greater knock on effect when used in conjunction with other aids such as diffusers. As an example the GBH car is currently tearing its own front bumper in half with the downforce from the front end, yet was still having issues with getting the front tyres fully up to temps, until this weekend.

I once studdied a paper on aero dynamics. Check out a nascar. You wanna get that splitter to touch the ground if you can. You can achieve this by playing with the ride height some but it is a fine balance. You need to also consider the pogo effect which comes into play when you get really close to the ground.
I would suggest that if they strugle to gain heat in the front tires they play with the camber settings and pressures for the front wheels.
