club unlimited (anything goes if you can afford it)
club street (street legal and fully trimmed)

fully agree with you on this dunc
Can see some logic in this, but for me, stripping the car is the cheapest mod of all:)

thing is you could go on forever with it but a line needs to be drawn somewhere.

as i said before i think engine mods and suspension max for club as it would rule too many people out that are already in time attack club and potentially force them in to the next level of club but on the other hand a lot of people that do trackdays have these basic mods and it would allow them to enter into a level that would add to a good competition in club.

one of the main things for me this year was the rules changing after they had been released the first time.
rules need to be released and stay like that not changed during or later so people can build there cars accordingly.

to me a lot of people came out of last year started doing things to there cars and when the rules came out the rules would have put them in pro this year or another class had to be created.

that in my oppinion is why we have so many cars at the top that are as developed, as they shouldnt be up against most of the club class cars.

in january i had my car booked in to send it for allsort's done but rules came out with, you cannot mess with standard shell etc so i rang and confirmed things so we cancelled the work then rules changed and we couldnt get car back in, in time to do what we wanted as car was going to get totally changed.

so we are running with a car that is still full shell except for boot and door skins other than that nothing has changed.
still got all windows with motors etc and motorised mirrors and i have stripped inside.
and i am beating its arse to be at the top with the other cars  .

dont get me wrong not moaning just saying the senario it created for us when we were doing our best to be at the top but the main thing now for us is the car isnt good enough compaired to some of the cars round us.
so i can appreciate what others are thinking.

thats why i agree with dunc and others.

i know loads that want to enter but cannot see the point with some of the cars in club class as they all say the same

HOW THE HELL DO YOU COMPETE WITH A LIGHTLY MODIFIED CAR.
you wont its as simple as that.

In theory there are unofficially 3 groups in this years TA.
Pro
C.C. Group A
C.C. Group B

If these groups were given the official stamp so to speak with the top 10 going through to the final shoot out then things would feel a lot closer, with more people being able to partake in a super battle and gain points.

Future entrants could be placed into either group using a rough comparison of the spec of the vehicle to the cars already entered. Any uncertancies and the vehicle should be placed into group A. The reasoning for this is to stop people understating their vehilces in order to blitz the competition.
This theory could be extended to the pro class with a class such as semi pro or tuner. This would allow more tuners / tuning companies to showcase what they do without having to spend the annual budget of a small island.

Just thinking out loud

It'll be interesting to see of this replaces the MLR sprint series.

From what i've heard a few of the tracks they used this years weren't too well suited to the cars using them, so maybe this will be its replacement.

The problem with the groups is its hard for the organisers to tell which car should go where, some cars in group A should be in group B and vice versa, but as there are a lot of unknown drivers this year, makes ity more so difficult.

I think in a couple of years time when a TA event can regularly draw large crowds, and we don't have to share with publuc track time will give us more time on track.
Although, the sponsors, I would have thought, like the 'mixed' shows as it may showcase there wares to the general public.

Can't see it replacing it Moley. The MLRSS is one of the best subscribed motorsports events I can think of.

Your right Stuart some are thinking that a few old hands may move towards TA from the MLRSS. Which will free up space for new drivers in the MLRSS bringing new blood so to speak to the track.

Time will tell Liam

In general on some comments in this thread

The front runners will always be moaned at in my opinion, also ones with the most cash unfortunatly thats motor sport ! and they will always be their obviously- i say do as much as you possibly can to your car to make it the fastest round the track and drive it as fast as you can to get the best time - thats the aim and name of the game to win !!!

Another point is - i think all cars should have a proper cage , some people think my car is all poperly caged for chassis improvements - yes it helps but my MAIN aim was to protect my self in event of an accident , after seeing simon norris crash at castle comb last year

MLR edition runners are not happy due to different track layouts being used.

Northy and Lee B will be swapping handbags soon

Funny old decision to be honest. Can anyone shed any light on it?
