im with them, things are good, but there internet is a pita, im not sure if it is the rooter at my end, but about 2-3 times a day, i have to unplug the power for a few seconds and then plug it back in, it takes about 20 seconds to reboot its self, then it works well again.

the v+ box (like sky plus but better)
xl tv
phone with free even and weekend calls
4mb broadband, this is getting a free upgrade to 10mb soon.

over all im pleased with it

I am with VM and I find their broadband terrible. I was with NTL before they took them over and never had a problem at all, Speed was fine, connection was stable. Since I had to reconnect with Virgin using the same router it drops connection now and again. I don't really find this too annoying but what is annoying is the fact that they use traffic shaping during peak times. Now I don't exactly know what that means but I do know that my speeds after 4.00 p.m and at weekends are shocking, sometimes ridiculously slow. For instance, I have an 8mb connection and today my speeds are no better than dialup. I mean I am getting on average 10 Kbs per sec on my netmeter.
As soon as my contract is up I will be switching to Be there. Do a google search and you will see how many people are complaining about VM.

I have 3 telephone lines and BB (20MB) with Virgin. I used to havhe TV as well but when they stopped showing Sky1 i moved my TV services to Sky, so now i have HD downstairs and a box in the bedroom (multiroom). Virgin telephone lines work fine all the time, billing is hard to read sometimes but they have some very good bolt-ons that make a lot of sense to pay for like free UK land line calls 24/7, 40% off mobile calls and decent discounts on international calls. I've been with CableTel,NTL, and now Virgin for 10yrs.

BB works well most of the time 97%. No BB is 100% reliable and they all have their downtime once in a while but Virgin is not bad for the most part and gives some of the best speeds around. They are not the cheapest for sure but they have good infrastructure and you're not likely to be left in the sh1t as you might by some fly-by-night cowboys that there are plenty of, and some service providers i wouldn't ever entertain include BT and AOL...total rubbish!!

To get the best from Virgin Cable BB use an up to date router that will make the best use of a good service. I use a D-Link 4300GL gamer router that gives me full 10/100 WAN, 4x1Gb Cat6 Ethernet hard wired lines as well as the usual 54Mb secure Wireless that i can make good use of in the garage at the back of my garden, in the garden or the conservatory. I've had it a year now and it's the best router i ever had. I really like D-Link, they make excellent kit. Prior to D-Link i had Netgear (nothing but trouble). Currently i rarely have to reboot the router or reset the cable modem, and there's nothing quite like streaming your favorite tunes to the garage at full speed
