Possibly - what compound are the full slicks?

Bit wide, more Evo than Impreza sized, though. You'd need a very special Impreza to use those to the full.

I had 195/600-16 Avon radial slicks on my previous Impreza, with 5/4 kg/mm coilovers, and the grip was awesome compared to any road tyre.

Apart from width, why can't you use them for sprints? Too hard or wrong class?

To answer a few of the questions:

They really are a bit to wide for my car, I would have tried them though? The main reason as I would be in the wrong class to be able to use them. There is no way I am at a level to compete in the class I could use them :(

The slicks I believe to be a medium compound, the stamp on the side indicates it is a C63 D823 which is the compound/constuction for the tyre.
I would have to check the wets in the morning to get the compound/construction details.

Edited to add an indicated price, although I have just re-read the rules and couldn't find that in there Stuart

That's what Mike Blackmore in D8 has fitted to his car. It looks bloody superb. Not OTT at all, in fact, quite subtle. He's also increased the front & rear track by 70mm.

Just when I think I might be getting close, he goes and ups the bar by 3 notches :o
