To be honest, as much as I love that track, I dont think Knockhill suits my normally neat and tidy driving style.blacky wrote:Good write up Duncan, glad the car was nearly 100% reliable, thats the first hurdle as they say. Shame you were dissapointed with your times, do you think its down to power, or handling or something else??
Good luck at Silverstone, its quite a fast circuit isn't it??
What's the plan?? We need to know, I'm guessing a slighty different turbo to get some extra power, and maybe getting the car corner weighted to ensure that the handling is spot on???
knockhill isnt a place for neat and tidy Dunk, you really need to throw the car into the corners and make full use of the apex`s on both sides of each corner (heavy on the suspension i know lol), noticed the cars were using a different line comming out of the hair pin this year as well, most were prefering to use the full with of the track rather than trying to cut itdynamix wrote:

Bump steer mod shims the rack to bring the track control arms more parallel to the ground, so reducing the TCA movement as the suspension moves. The rack is sprung, the hubs aren't iyswim.ScoobieWRX wrote:The think the Powerstation/Litchfield car in 2006 had a 'bump steer' mod. I'm still trying to suss out what that actually involves and it's something to do with shimming the suspension somewhere but apparently it gets rid of understeer.
