More work
during the week i heard my exhaust blowing like mad and coupled with the fact that i'm going through a litre of oil every 2 days meant that it was time to take the belhousing cover off and replace the gasket.
here's my days progress in photos
9:30am - 12:00pm

oh dear.

nice eh!

And here is todays progress in photos :roll: (not an eventful one)
started off by scraping the old gasket off and sanding the mating faces smooth with 400 grit paper;

ther half of my three branch;

not going to bother welding that up, just going to buy another one.
the local three legged cat;

mating face nice and smooth;

bellhousing on with new gasket;

Clutch/Flywheel assembly on, but there's a problem with the tabbed bolt :roll: ;

and it was time to pack up because we had to do some other jobs;

and this will be all from me for about two weeks, because i'm off on holiday

Beyond a joke...
well, since being back from holiday i've got a big f##k all done :x and today just made things worse, i noticed before taking the engine apart that the front of the car was pitching and diving a fair bit, so i decided to have a look underneath to see what the problem was...
and here it is;

both floor pan subframe mounts have snapped :evil:
so not only have i got to re tap the crankshaft, but i've got to get these mounts done too.

Right, Thursday i managed to re assemble the engine after the crank was re tapped and everything went nice and smooth!
started the car up after a few initial spins and it was running good for a car that's been standing there for just over a month, i put a huge length of cardboard under the engine and not a single drop of the good stuff came out
result he says!
then (despte having those broken brackets) i brought it to work slowly just to bring the engine temp up, and raise the oil pressure to test for leaks, arrived at work, looked underneath, great, no leaks.
then when i came out to take the car home i looked underneath, and there was a fresh patch of oil :x but it was NOT coming from the belhousing as it was before. instead it's coming from the crankshaft oil seal that i forgot to change :roll: lesson learned, so after i have had the brackets changed for my new solid ones
and have my front tracking re aligned at the garage i'll be striping it own to change said
