It's going to have to wait until I get back from France next April. I'm out there for 5 months so it seems a bit silly to spend a load of money for 3 months only to have it sitting around for 5 months. I do have a couple of options to allow me to get on track before I go so will investigate those further :)

Quick update, the car has been stripped back to the shell, it's currently being caged up with a custom 1000 point cage, so it's gonna be safe as possible, I'll post pictures when I get it back next week. Even rolty has been useful having put in a good 15 hours so far.

Ta!

Can do any night this week, although I'm going to watch the football tonight so not tonight. Hmm, that was a conflicting sentence!

I went over to help Matt yesterday and to my surprise he'd actually done something and got his hands dirty!! :o There was a bit of damage on the rear quarter after an off at some point, so a bit of action with dent puller and the application of some glass fibre filler and it was as good as new. Just needs a sand down and a lick of paint and we'll be there!.

Image

The cage is all in now, although it'll need a harness bar to be put in as the diagonal would get in the way if we were to use the brace across the car to mount the harnesses.

Matt had a strut brace fabricated which is welded on to the front turrets, we've sprayed the brackets and the brace white so that will go back on once we've finished working on the engine - new hoses, rad and oil cooler.

Finally, an OMP lower brace has been acquired that sits between the wishbones, I did have a go at putting it on yesterday, but the nuts are rusted to buggery, so going to have to get on there with a blowtorch and see if that helps, if not get the car up on a lift and use a fat breaker bar :D

We also went round and checked all the bleed nipples on the calipers and although a couple were a bit corroded all of them came undone ok, so that's good news for when we come to replace the fluid.

The crappy angle grinder stopped play on Saturday :(

I need to get on and order some bits today, just trying to justify it all to myself as it's gonna be expensive...
