It seems to me that there is a point when your car has so much power that no matter how excellent the handling is set up you get to a point or level whereby any more power and the car becomes totally undriveable. You can't put the power down and you may as well be driving on ice.
For example..... Even a top handling Scooby that has been made to handle as well as it is physically possible must have it's limitations, and after a certain point it starts to handle like a wet sock full of diaorreah.
I've seen quite a few Scoobs/Evo's with 800/900/1000 bhp and think to myself, surely you could have between 400 - 600bhp, with ultra good handling and it would be good enough to beat the higher power cars that you find in competitions like Time Attack.
Can that be possible or am i having wet dreams and talking shit!! :-D
Any sensible and informed comments are very welcome!! :thumb:

I agree, the cars are getting so quick now. A drivable 500bhp is what is required for a club class driver in my opinion.
Having said that my Evo running 700+ is surprisingly drivable but when the car starts squirming changing from 3-4 at 90mph under full power its kind of scary and that's in a straight line  But to be fair it is well mapped by our very own Gary @ APT you can get on the gas coming out of a corner and know you'll get progressive (but scary  :-D ) power.

Agreed...... and just to add to that....and how big the drivers arse is!! I think i'd need an extra 200bhp just to haul mine along at the moment!!stuart wrote:600 bhp at the wheels with excellent response and a good spread of torque, decent brakes, grip, and cooling will go a long way to beating a higher powered, less well balanced car.
Don't forget the most important component within any build

Like a tank. 8) If I hear we are being invaded, Im going to war in the Evo 8) :lol:stuart wrote:Trust me Ross, I know just how heavy your car is........I've had to push it in and out at APT enough times
I still think 600whp is far too much, or to much for me anyway  600whp in mine is like an R1 on steroids, 450 is sweet :-D
