April Marham reports
SUNDAY:
Just got back after another enjoyable day at Marham, the weather kept fine until around 2pm, then the heavens opened which made things interesting
A few pictures from the day:
A shame, this only done a couple of sessions

No major problems throughout the day, the Golf ran faultless (again) although I do try my hardest to try and kill it  Nice to meet a few more BP members, a quick hi to Ian, Jason, lee, Llyod, Gerry and Matt
Another well organised event a Marham, and hopefully looking to be back there in September :-D

How did you find your 8v on the chicanes? Much understeer? What tyres and pressures did you use?
I found that although the track was the same layout as last year the chicane near the pits didn't seem as tight and was able to carry more spend through it (caused by you lot yesterday keep knocking them over :-D ) but once the rain started to fall and made the markings on the track slippery it just became far to difficult to try and push it hard because people were coming off everywere

Well just got back from a superb weekend of driving and man what a weekend!!!
Probably get ripped to pieces but i really feel all bullshit aside that my drifting ability came on loads towards the end of today, it has gone from zero to just a little bit above zero but that is good enough for me!!!
Before i go any further i must apolagise to anyone out there that i span in front of or blocked, i had no interest in going quickly this weekend i was just trying to have as much fun on the corners and getting to grips with a locked diff, kevlar specials and severe oversteer!! Ben your face was priceless when i span directly in front of you, i thought i was going to get a right hook when i rolled back in the pits!! Sorry mate!! It always seemed the way over the weekend that as soon as someone i recognised filled my rear view mirror i would spin on the next corner!!! :-D
Got so many highlights of the weekend for me i just cant list them all but the over riding one was mentioned by Dan of me, Trev and Dan all pilling into a corner and smoking the rear tyres in syncronised form!! Will remeber that one for a long time boys!! I think Wilson Jnr has got that on film, one for the archives!!
I laughed my arse off Ben and Stu when i just read that you was running Woosung Dark Horse tyres!!!! We have been running the Silvia on them Kevlar specials over the weekend!! Lasted a fair while but they got killed today when i saw the canvas of them! Maybe we should organise a group buy on some of them beauties!!?
The car was faultless for us really, had to spend what seemed like an eternity on saturday constantly doing 1 lap checking the boost level and then coming in to set the manual boost controller under the bonnet to the required boost level. Was a bit of a shocker when first laps on saturday and i put my foot down and the needle on the boost gauge wrapped itself round the lockstop, it went quick for that split second but im not sure the motor liked it!! Only slight fault it gave us was the exhaust burning its mounts and hanging off but that was soon solved and it ran like a dream, not bad for a car made from spare parts and built with only a welder, grinder and cable ties! It shows what can be done with a bit of hard work i suppose.
Was great to meet some new faces over the weekend and especially today when at first i thought there was no big power guys there but was good to meet you all, Steve, Jason, Matt, Gerry, Tony, to name just a few, nice to meet you all at last.
Lee massive thanks goes out to you over the weekend mate, really helped me out at times and i just hope that the comedy laps we had make up for it a bit!! Hopefully the cameras got that grass tracking burnout we produced today!!
Hopefully there may be a few other airfield type trackdays coming up in the future that big power as a club may be attending as i will certainly be up for it!! Overall a weekend of great company and amazing fun!! Lets do it all again soon!!
