I'm fairly sure thats been proven to not be consistent. Can't remember the examples though.

well i checked this out on my scooby, navara, 200sx, astra van, and vivaro van and its correct :-D

I just checked on my mums MX5 and fuel tank is on left but icon shows it being on right, but on my dads scoob it is correct but cant check mine because it's still in garage :cry: .

Francis, are you sure it doesn't have an arrow instead. If the petrol pump symbol is on the wrong side then there usually is an arrow next to it pointing to the side that the filler cap is on.

Well, I stood outside the drivers side of the Vito today for 22 minutes trying to find the fuel cap. Sneaky Germans :lol: Cunningly they hid it on the other side.

I first heard about this earlier this year and was made to look like a prize cock (nothing new) when my 1.1 Mk3.5 N reg Fiesta run about showed as being on the right hand side on the dash.
Lo and behold when I pulled up at the petrol pump with a screech of tyres (I watched too many 80's cop shows) to find I had parked a few too many millimetres away for the bloody nozzle to reach as it was in fact on the left hand side of the car :roll:
