Lots of little niggles. Nothing a bit of motivation and cash can't sort.

ah good :) for a moment i thought there were some right serious issues like the engine, you'll get back into it in no time Stu :wink: we've had plenty of moments like that with the mini.

i take it that you have a thread on it?

Nothing elaborate mate. About to get a thorough overhaul and I'll update when relevant.

So, the wheel bearings have been changed :) i've put the car back together now, but forgot to take a photo :roll:

but i do have a photo here of when the hub was taken off.

Image

and we have another development too, i'm getting a 1275 :ph43r: and going to rebuild that with some 'additional' parts :whistle: such as a stage 2 kit, weber carb, straight cut gears e.t.c. :wink:

today i made yet another big decision with the mini... it's going to be a permanent single seater :D which might be a problem if someone wants a lift :? :roll: but sod it!

here's what's left of the two old wheel bearings;

Image

as you can see, they've pretty much had it.

mmmm, look at those wheels :D and that lovely oil leak :x

well on saturday i was greeted by another loud banging/scraping noise :?

so, i jack the car up again and take the wheel off. and i notice that there was a gap between the castelated nut and the hub plus the fact that my split pin had sheared made me first think that i didn't torque it up enough :o

but, upon close inspection the nut had acutally stripped itself on the stub shaft where it's been on and off and smacked about. so i've had to order another nut, i just hope that the stub shaft's okay since that looked a bit chewed, might have to run a die over it to make sure :roll: but for now, i put it all back together;

Image

oh and i recieved another email from demon-tweeks with regards to my OMP TRS+ seat, it's being delayed 'till the 21st from it's original date of the 16th :roll:

but it's not all doom and gloom

*really?*

yes really, i had a new quote today for the car :)

Today we managed to get the driveshaft hub done up and brakes blead, so it now stops on a sixpence :wink:

however, dad had a trial run after i did (to have a go of the brakes) he then came round the top of our road very very slowly and i saw something bouncing about underneath :? and when he got closer i saw that the two rear exhaust brackets had sheared off :? but not at the rubber mounts, oh no, it was the metal plates :o

So today i replaced the exhaust brackets for the new 'unsnapped' ones :roll:

how the hell did that happen?

Image

solid mounted engine, solid mounted exhaust, yet it sheared? :?

that's better :D
