Difficult talks for TNT Racing
After the first round at Donny inspite of Alan doing a great job at driving the car the car was just not quick enough, this is mainly as a result of the new engine not happening.
We had some tough decisions to make and this has proved a massive strain.
The point of contention has been around the new engine build. I wanted to push hard and start the build as soon as possible but Alan didn't. for once he was the voice of reason stating the high cost of the build and the fact that if went ahead with it we would not have time to test it. I still wanted to go ahead.
This is the first time since building the car that we have been at opposite ends of the table with neither side giving an inch. Everytime we saw each other we would end up arguing, it got to a point where we would contact each other during the week
Eventually we started talking again about the development of the car, the focus being to make it quicker yet reliable.......
We have now decided upon several upgrades for the car that should see a noticeable improvement, the first of these should be going on after silverstone. The target gain is 4 secs a lap quicker. Towards the end of the season we will be starting on a new engine ready for next year.
