Okay, go the quote in, its not brilliant, so spoke to my insurance broker and he says that if I don't claim any damage to my car then I don't pay any excess :? :?
Now, I'm not an expert but I thought you paid the excess no matter what and if its found to not be your fault you get the money back, is this correct :?: :?:
if i don't have to pay the excess as I'm not claiming for damage to my car then this issue is an easy one, and I'll let the insurance sort it.
Any insurance bods here confirm this?

Ultimatley, fully comp cover your liability plus damage to your car.
TPFT cover liabilty to third party + fire and theft.
if you dont claim, you'll not have to pay an XS, if the guy claims against you, then he'll either:
a) Have to pay his own xs if dealing with it through his ins company, then they will progress his repair, whilst he then uses legal cover to reclaim his uninsured loss (i.e. his XS) That will also be added to his claim, that your company pay, does that make sense?
b) Your company may deal with his claim direct, and he'll not pay the XS at all. Why do they do this you ask? well, basically, if you have to make a claim, insurers would rather deal with the repair they are about to pay out on, as opposed to giving to "his" company to deal with, and who "may" add a little on the bill.
It also means there is less paperwork, if it is dealt with well, that person may also consider the company who dealt with his claim when his policy comes up for renewal........then they get a new customer for insurance.
I could go on, and often do. But not tonight, I;m knackered !
