Duncan.... We must be connected somehow mate.... I've just been on there and downloaded the schamatics for the serial interface to chat with your ECU so it can put it into bootloader mode and you can flash it with ECUflash.

What this is is a standard USB to Serial converter cable that has an FTDI chip in it. It's taken apart and the various wires from the serial connector end of the cable that has the converter chip in are soldered onto strategic points on the ECU PCB that has tracks that lead to specific legs of the ECU CPU.

That way you can put the CPU into bootloader mode and flash the CPU direct using ECUflash.

This is what some tuners do in the USA to recover dead ECU's, only they pull the chip off the ECU board and pop it into an EPROM programmer type device and flash it that way.

Same thing.

Edited to add: Not sure if i want to suss it out now :D

I'll get back to you on that one.

I've downloaded all the schematics, ECU Board photo, schematics for the 555 Astable pulse circuit (has to be made seperately on a breadboard) and i've found a cable online that i could probaly buy from Maplins. I will be going there tomorrow to return some bits so i'll get a cable while i am there.

I'll see if i can come up with something that will get your ECU back to normal. I've got an 06 STi stock ROM already on my laptop that can be flashed to your ECU to get it up and running.

Once i'm happy i have everything sorted perhaps you can come to me with your ECU and we'll do the neccessary.

No promises i can pull this off but i love a challenge and willing to give it a bash, and if it gets you out of the sh1t and back on track that's good too :thumb:

Duncan... I just want to check a couple of things......

ROM ID: A8DH200Z or A8DG300Z - I've got A8DH200Z.

i'm pretty damn sure either will work just the same as mine in that i can either flash it with A4SE700D or 900D. However, I've even flashed mine with a USDM ROM and it worked very well so it should be ok either way :D

ROM Size: 1Mb
