One comment I would make

Don't be lead by a number. How much a car produces is irrelevant unless you can drive the thing ;) Many of us have chased numbers at one point or another. It can be a very expensive pastime (Says me aiming for 500 at the wheels :D )

Fully agree,
my last scoob felt great after a few mods and a re-map, then as it did not make the number I had in mind, it was 'slow' after going on the rollers. And so the long and expensive process starts.

My current scoob, is quick enough, but has not been on a roller, partly due to the above.

I would suggest you change the oil pump. This caused my engine failure and need for a rebuild. This car is now Andy916's!

+1 for the oil pump change and make sure it has the modified oil pressure plunger/piston otherwise it will do the same as mine :(

Take your old oil pump off, clean it up and change the plunger for one from Bill Gwynne Racing School online shop. He's the chap that runs a very well known rally school.

They sell bits too and here is the link http://www.billgwynne.com/res_website.a ... e=RCEngine

Part no. BGM-E-0035 - Oil Pump PRV Mod (Bypass Plunger) -
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Waiting now for another execution date!!:headhack:

How long has ESL had the 97/98 ecu mappable? Last ime I heard it was to be later this year.
