Vacuum Advance question

Post by Suz »

Just noticed the vacuum advance on my manta is only running to one carb. It has a split manifold so I am assuming it is therefore only basing the suction on one carb.
Is this correct or do I need to set it so it has a feed from both carbs.

Just wondering if this may be causing the problems I'm having with the car running lumpy either when you put your foot down or when you are cruising with low acceleration.

Doesnt the vacuum advance run 'from' the carb to the distributor to advance the ignition with revs etc? There should be no need to have vacuum input to the distributor from two sources.

I have been doing some searching for info on this and some sites make mention of an anti-pulse valve that needs to go in the vacuum pipe.

I dont know if it helps.
