Clutch aligning tool
Lee,
If you are fitting a multi plate clutch, Ian is 100% correct in that you need a dummy shaft or alignment tool as included in some kits.
I have an old school alignment tool which definitely accomodates Fords if you are fitting an hyper single plate unit ok.

Clutch arrived today and now that i have had a better look the broom handle might have done it as the two plates are keyed onto the shaft so not that much to align.
Wish me luck.......

" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
Lee, I have the same problem and the same twin plate clutch
I don't know what you mean by 'keyed on' but the garage that fitted it, the firt time, needed a real splined shaft to align the two friction plates.
I need to borrow a Scooby input shaft from somewhere.
