Haven't Mines already cracked the GTR ECU, and they are the only ones at the moment to be able to map it.

I find it odd with cars and tuners - the car from all accounts is already tiptop - so why do they feel the compulsion to fiddle !! - on the Dyno this is a 500+ car ... surely that is enough for a standard road car.

I will add - a GTR is going to be my next car - stashing away the money now !! ..

I just watched the vids again. By christ that's an awesome bit of kit. Just the right amount of power for the right amount of handling. Perfect!!

Maybe Ben is right. It's already a cracking bit of kit, why extract more power out of it, and change the handling etc...maybe that would start to make it less driveable and completely loose it's edge. Would make it a very diffrent car. Surely there's only so much power you can put down before the laws of physics kick in bigtime and it end up being like driving on ice.

These Autocar vids are what TopGear used to be about. No nonesense proper petrolheads information!! Excellent!! Nice find Chris :thumb:

You may roll your eyes young man :P and i know we all mod our cars to make them faster and handle better etc....but if you note there are many flaws with our cars such as the terrible understeer on Impreza's, the serious lack of low end grunt and the fact they can handle a lot more power than the manufacturer deemed we needed as standard and thankfully due to Subaru's over engineered product, Subaru have clearly left us a huge margin for improvements here and there.

This GTR though, as the chap in the vid has said, 'has moved the game on' and Nissan have clearly stated this car is just right as it is and not meant to be fiddled about with. I would agree on this occasion that a manufacturer has got it spot on straight out of the box. Time will tell though if that is the case, and as these cars start to come in to the UK then maybe we'll get a better picture of what it can and cannot do or maybe what it needs if flaws start to appear. Whether or not aftermaket improvements will be an improvement on what seems to be almost the perfact drivers car is yet to be, however there is no doubt this is a fantastic car out of the box.

Thank you Gerry :D

:boring: And now after all that excitement i will get off my soap box, retire to a comfy armchair and go to sleep :boring:

Yes, we all seem to agree that this is a superb car in it's standard form and know that Nissan have made it dificult to tune/modify.
In saying that they must have had to make some compromises in design and manufacture to fit in with legislation and to make it suitable for 'normal' road use so i am sure that theywill get modded in time.
The R32 GTR was totally groundbreaking in it's day, but look at how they are modified now.
I can't wait to see one of these with 1500bhp, hopefully in my lifetime lol.

Think Eddy just about summed it up. :D

Just to add, this and all new cars performance are designed and manufactured and sold with whatever, all embracing, warranty to suit the track hooligan, the traffic commute, the x00 mile cruise and the 'pop to the shops' There must be scope for focussed improvement :D

Oh for a lottery win :vsad:

In my humble opinion i don't think every performance car benefits from further modification, and they are sometimes better cars left as they are but then i suppose it's all down to it's intended purpose.

Who knows what will happen with this one and time will tell. However, i am in full agreement with Gerry on one thing.... 'Oh for a lottery win!!'

Yes please!! :D
