Best option is not to ask questions and 'interperet' the rules as they are stated. Any OE seatbolt hole,I'm sure, will be strong enough to secure a harness, the angle of the belt is quite important though.

The passenger seat is purely so it 'looks' like a street car, thats what I understood anyway.
Some of the rules are copied and pasted straight from the pro rules and don't always apply exactly.

I have an email from the scrutineer saying OEM seats & belts are fine and regs will be updated to that effect

Am in discussion over the bonnet pins and disconnecting internal bonnet release ?.

My car is my daily driver and there is no way I'm drilling holes in the bonnet. IMHO its a daft reg for a car fitted with OEM steel bonnet.

Will keep thee updated

Looks like I'm out :( no relaxation regarding the requirement to have external bonnet releases

Car would have been my Lexus IS350 with TOM's compressor which I'm hoping to sell a few of here in the UK (Lexus GB don't sell them)

Cant go bodging up extrenal bonnet releases.........also the vehicle security angle...........

That's a real shame about the bonnet pins but it's one of the safety rules that I understand and agree with. Maybe you could get an aftermarket bonnet that could be used for race days? A few of the guys on this forum should be able to make a cost effective GRP version I would think......

Why not fit the aerocatch locking ones, and only disable the bonnet release on the day?

Club Challenge Rule Update

Post by duncan »

For your information Rule 9.4 in the rules & regulations which relates to locks etc has been removed.

To clarify

You MUST use bonnet pins IF you replace the OE bonnet or boot with FRP/Carbon items.

If you are using the stock items this is not a requirement in Club Challenge.
