What suspension have you decided on??

Going for GAZ GHA coilovers although they aren't true coilover at the rear. A budget choice but are meant to be very good value for money.

Had a fantastic day today at Beford Autodrome. Both my friend and I were hugely impressed by our 'new' standard 328 Sport. I have been using it as a road car before today and I thought it would be too soft and wallowy for the track. Much less honed out of the box than my old STi version 4 or Accord Type R. Turns out it was absolutely fantastic!!!!! The chassis was so adjustable on the throttle and unperturbed by bumps mid-corner. The amount of grip (partly due to the surface at Bedford) was just staggering on P7000 fronts and F1 rears. Add to that the front shockers are original (109000 miles) Bilsteins and quite new cheapo GSF jobbies on the rear and it just adds to the kudos of the chassis. We know you aren't meant to time laps but I looked at my watch a couple of times

and noted our laps were around 3:10 which I thought was quite good for first time out in a standard car.

You cant fault the handling of the BMW's out of the box - they are very composed. Its a very good base to work from

Hi Jason

No not yet. The car has sat on the drive since Bedford and a few of the interior parts have been removed. By the end of the month I have to remove the rest of the interior then it's booked in at the beginning of March for fitting the brakes, coilovers, anti roll bars, seats and harnesses and some maintenance items.

We're looking to do Oulton so we might squeeze that in near the end of March before Marham, or do it in May.

tommy i am familiar with the pads you have chosen but if you don't mind me asking what made you decide on the discs you have chosen , as i am now trawling through the brake minefield :roll:

A few factors made me choose the Nitracs. Some good reports but not many since they seem to be quite unknown. The good warranty they are sold with and the very reasonable price made me think I would give them a try. I'll be 'logging' the car so I'll be able to tell exactly how long they last and, of course, how they perform.
