Each to their own :(

Frayz I would have to say follow your heart, not because it's a cossie but for the fact that not one of us on here bought our cars with our heads  . We buy them and drive them because of the way they make us feel when we look at them, drive them and when we're stuck in traffic and you catch a glimpse of someone looking or pointing at your car :-D :-D

Oh one more point guys, the sierra may be old and dated but if I woke up one morning and found Whitney Houston lying next to me i wouldn't be crying 8)

Follow your heart Frayz. Cars never make sense if you think about them too much.

A small turbo Escos for me please in Imperial Blue :D

its not really a anti sierra thread mate as the escort cosworth is mainly a sierra anyway
they took a saphire cosworth and used the floor pan, all running gear, rear axle, bear,
rear arch's for the suspention and the whole front end of the car just changing front slam
pannel to acomidate the intercooler.

this is why a original escort cosworth kit will not fit onto a standard escort.

so what ever car you get really its a sierra at heart.

its all down to taste really witch one you like best my personal choice be the sierra
not being biast at all but part can be difficult to get hold of and clean original examples
are hard to find and your looking around the 5-6000 pound mark for a sierra and about
10-11000 for a good escort.

id go for the sierra too simply because escorts are overpriced . I always hankered for one having owned a modded rs fiesta in my youth( god i feel old) go with your heart mate I bought the scoob rather than another evo due to I prefer the scoob's looks and I lke the midland scoobies people so it comes down to what makes you happiest as a day to day car not if its the quickest etc and quite frankly a decently modded cossie aint slow.

Escorts may be over priced but 3drs are through the roof at the moment as they are so popular.

All those thinking that the cossies are out dated are still comparing their modern machinery to them. They are the performance benchmark and will always be a classic imho. You can't say on one hand that a cossie is old and then on the other rate your speed, power, performance etc against one. Not saying that any of you do that but you all know they are still the car to be compared with. I hear it all the time. My scooby will whoop your jelly mould. I should hope so too as its had 20 years of development over my Dagenham Dustbin!

Frayz, only you can answer the question, you have to drive it, want it and most of all afford it. If your going for a cossie though whats it going to be? RWD or 4x4?

Welcome back Kieron

I would still say that most of us want to own a load of desirable cars and spending too much time (and money) in one, delays our enjoying the next one. If you are bored, and I'm not still sure that you are Frayz, move on mate.
