JISC/HCC Awards Dinner Sat 23rd Feb 2008. Speaker Paul (Zen)

Post by ESL »

OK Chaps,

For those of you with any interest in JISC, Sprinting or hearing how Pauls amazing 2007 season went, this is the event to attend. Its at the Fairway Inn Golf Club in Rickmansworth (WD3 1QL for satnav) from 7.30 til midnightish.

We can sort HCC memberships on the day and some of the resident sprinters on here will be receiving pots for the cabinet (although Gerry might have to get a bigger cabinet). I imagine there might also be an amount of banter regarding the forthcoming season.

It would be nice to get a table or two of Big Power bretheren as this will be the main forum for JISC in 2008.

Here is the speil on the invite:

Paul Blamire worked in mechanical and manufacturing systems engineering for 10 years; notably designing and consulting on the build of remotely operated under water vehicles; some of which were used to explore The Titanic. Paul uses his engineering skills in the R&D side of Zen, particularly in new product development and specification.
As a teenager Paul first became involved in motorsport, building, tuning and racing 100cc karts. He now builds, develops and runs the ZEN 759bhp demo car in competitive events such as Time Attack and Ten of the Best in the UK and events in Japan.
Zen Performance grew out of and upon Paul's privateer tuning of his Subaru Legacy and then Subaru lmpreza WRX RA. Thousands of development hours have been spent on the Impreza - the testing ground for many of the parts Zen sells today.
They are a complete/bespoke tuning service, are Subaru specialists and whilst the Subaru market keeps them endlessly busy, they can tune other Japanese marques too.
Come and meet Paul and listen to the full story.

Other halfs are fine if they can take an evening of relentless automotive banter. Or we could put them next to each other and they can talk about other stuff?

No real dress code, people come smart casual usually, but whatever you are comfortable in is fine.

You wear a kilt down here and you'll be sitting with other halves :D Go on though, it'll be a good talking point. :)

Sent mine off today for Liz and me. Be interrested to hear how Paul got on with TA and especially Japan and how he managed to get the engine rebuilt TWICE :o Should be a good night :D

I'll be worn out just listening to it! I like sleeping too much to be like Paul.

We need a few more for a BP table! If anyone is thinking about joining us in the JISC next year, this is the event that kicks it off and is very worth attending.
