North Weald Shakedown Sprint
Did a placement with TVR when I was a youngun, so I've had a few splinters under my fingernails. Its been a while though, and those are quite big panels.Gerry H wrote:Is there nothing you can't do? 5 Doors in GRP would be nice if you fancy a project. No window frames doesn't help with replacing the door glass either.ESL wrote:Balls to handicaps. Your sudden fixation with 'balls' and their derivative terms has me a little worried.
BTW, saw Paul @ Zen this afternoon. Getting his talk ready for 23rd. It's his birthday a few days before so he's looking forward to making a night of it.
Didn't know that about Pauls birthday. I'd better apply for an increased VIP bar budget. I told him not to spend too much time on his presentation as I know how busy he is, but he is very much of the 'if a job is worth doing' ilk. Be interesting to know what its like living with the UKs fastest track scoob.
I'll get some details up on here about the evening when I get back home, but don't have the invite to hand at the moment.
Regs arrived today for the B19 Shakedown Sprint and sprint proper. Shakedown on 2nd March and the main one on 16th March.
For the Shakedown, it's just that. No classes and no awards just an opportunity to test your car under 'real' conditions as an authorised MSA event. Everything else will be run as for a normal sprint day. Signing on, driver's briefing, scrutineering, timing and times posted. So a good opportunity for newcomers to 'have a go' without the self perceived, competitive pressures of classes.
Event consists of 2 practice laps and as many timed laps, of one run, as possible, time & weather permitting.
Regs are available from the B19 Comp. Sec. details on their website

Hope to see a good few of you there.
Any Qs post 'em up and someone will try to answer them.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Race Series that I can run in include:
RAFMSA Grids, Nippon, LMA Saloon, BRDC SE Saloons and Birkett Relay. The car needs a fair bit of prep first so I'll probably guest at a few rounds of each to see what might be good to onslaught in 2009, given the reg fees arent extortionate.
Want to sprint it first to shake it down, it will also be my JISC car.
