the areas painted red have had welding done to them

the n/s strut needed a tricky repair to it as it had rotted out on the seem

So we moved our attention to the n/s arch and sill

And then to the o/s .i wish we'd started here first

Certainly a lot of time and effort invested into that mk1, good effort :thumb:

I look forward to the next batch of pictures and details on the modifications.

as you can see it all came together very quickly this was partly because the guy who i'd been sharing the lock up with lost his job and moved out leaving me to pay the bills ,which i could only just afford

although not for long a cheap mk2 16v turned up and i bought it/robbed it of the bits i wanted (the engine)and sold the rest , sorry no pics

and with the arch spats and chin spoiler fitted

by now i'd run up my over draft to its limit and couldn't afford to keep the shop so i had to take the toy home . this is roughly how our drive looked for nearly a year, whilst my bank ballence tried to recover

Fast forward a year and things have looked up a bit

Part 3

Lucky finds?

Having got the toy up and running and the outside tidy myself and Dan decided the inside needed a bit of a revamp, so i started trawling the scrap yards . so on one sunny sat morning i was quite happy to find a black corrado fresh off the back of a transporter , lucky for me not so lucky for the owner ,anyway a quick peer through the window reveled it had black leather . a very brisk walk to the reception revelled it could be mine for 150+vat . . . . . hell yeah !
happy with my purchace i wandered back to inspect it .the drivers seat was bent but i could replace the twisted frame with another one (not a difficult job)
The car also had bbs rims which were buggerd as the car had been in an impacted along the o/s,this inpact pushed the o/s front wheel into the a pillar and bannana'd the shell , i thought i'd check to see if it had an alloy spare . i didn't get that far the little g60 badge had me almost running back to the reception "how much for the motor "
