My new project - MKII 16v 1.8 1991 Golf

Post by Ben »

After having a blast on sunday I decided that I would hold fire on spending more money on the GTR and get myself a disposable car.

Here she is

This is a car I sold about 12 months ago in a moment of stupidity however I always knew I'd get it back - and I know what I spent on it to make it run perfectly.

Plans are very simple, strip down the interior, sell on the rainbow interior, sell on the BBS, a pair of buckets and some track wheels .... then see how it goes. I do feel a bit guilty as this car is mint, but I know it and I know it won't let me down as I had alot done on it.

Mods wise, it's absolutely standard apart from the uprated shocks and lowering springs, they will at some point be replaced with coilovers ...

Looks like a minter will look great out on track.
Definetly the way to go getting a track dedicated car along side a jap toy.

I will add that the wheels aren't like that now - the diamond polishing only lasted about 6 months !! .. so had to have them repainted plain old silver ...

1 . A K&N 57i cone filter and thats it!

Dad never wanted to strip it or turn it into a real track demon, as he owned it for too long and doesn't want to spoil it!

It performs really well at the ring for a standard 17yr old car, ask Dunc  Have some suspension for it but havent got round to fitting it yet! Its still living in its homeland!

Looking at a "track"car this weekend in Germany.. We shall wait and see...
