Knockhill plans

Post by Stuart »

I am looking into the feasibility of hiring an adequately insured car transporter with a driver for the weekend. This transporter can haul 8 cars at a time. The price is a rough quote and if the cars are delivered to the depot at Uxbridge, the contact is quoting

You and I think so Ben, but as we're not competing it would be great to get feedback from those that are taking part.

It phases me not one iota whether this goes ahead (I'll be flying ;) ) but for those doing the sharp end stuff, I would have thought the more stress and aggro that can be avoided the better.

Getting there is one thing. Can you imagine what would happen if you need to get a car home that doesn't drive? Try phoning Green Flag (or anyone else for that matter) and asking them to pick up your fully liveried race car from a known race circuit and then drive it up to 500miles home :o

I don't mean to be alarmist. I'm sure most of the people driving will get there and back with no drama. The transport idea is only that, an idea. If there is sufficient interest I will talk to Alex again (lizardlogistics.com) and get the interested parties the details.

i for one would be up for this

the fuel costs alone would be huge in driving the car there as well as bloody painfull

if i hired a trailer and truck it would cost far more

Just imagine the look of the transporter. :)

8 fully liveried race cars all on the one wagon. Could you put the BP banner on it too? :)
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D
