3A Looks almost Bentleyesque or V8 Rover Coupe. Lovely!! :thumb:
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

mini update

Post by RPS13 »

Thanks guys. It has already been a long project and it has a lot longer to go - but it is going to be one hell of a car if my fabrication work ever keeps up with the changing ideas.

The 200sx took some more abuse today. I started tidying up the workshop by making the shell 3 feet shorter! It is now down to a shortened floor pan and sills, and all the usable body panels have been removed. Unfortunately the misses took my camera away this weekend so no photo updates, but there will be some later in the week.

Nice one Robert, That is a very brave project! I wish I had just some of the skills you have demonstrated so far. Keep up the good work and project reports.

Thanks again for the compliments, it helps keep me motivated and back in the workshop.

JC - It looks like a lot of dirty metal lumps in real life, and not taking shape yet. But if you want to see it you are welcome too. Should look better when I start putting the Nissan bits into the Volvo shell.

Ok, give me a shout when you start that, I take it it's in the BP workshop?

I need to come and see whether my compressor is in the BP livery

Yep, the BP workshop needed something a little more retro.

I will probably be in there this weekend, prepping the Volvo shell for the "datsun-ectamy" and trying to teach myself to weld alluminium. I will keep the updates going, so just PM me when you want to point and laugh at the mess I made out of 2 perfectly good cars.

200sx lovers look away now! This is the new SX-shorty in the BigPower workshop. :wack:

This evenings jobs done
- clear some of the cr*p stripped out of the 200 ready for a trip to the tip. Everything useful has been kept.
- Picked up a load of steel tube to brace the shells
- Started bracing the Amazon ready to cut out some major chunks of chassis.
- More shelf storage needed for the various parts
- Another coat of paint to brighten up the workshop ( actually I roped the gorgeous misses into doing that bit  )

Expect some more interesting updates after the the weekend. The plasma cutter is getting aimed at the Volvo next
