Just for info, I made an undertray out of sheet aluminium. Didnt add a splitter, the Golf is so un-aerodynamic anyway, it probably wouldnt make any difference !

I actually made it to catch any oil drips rather than let them drip onto the track. I had a bad time at Beford last year where someone was dumping oil on the track and they blamed me. Turned out is wasnt me, but I DID have a very small drip, now that is collected on the undertray so I put nothing on the track

You've made a very nice job of that undertray :) . Just out of interest did you notice any differences in the car when you put it on. Did the engine temperatures change at all?

I didnt notice any engine temp changes, I specifically compared before / after, but it seemed the same.

I left a `gap` at the back, above the front subframe where the steering rack mounts, so air can escape, basically, where the exhaust leaves the engine bay, thats open.

Saying that, I seriously did consider covering the entire underside of the car in flat aluminium sheet and fitting a rear diffuser :o

I salute you Sir :notworthy:

That is a thing of beauty and I like your nod towards other track users too. Very considerate. (I concur that an entire alloy floor pan would indeed be very smutty)

As the car spends most of its life n the ring, where Bikes are also driving, I felt the additional work was worth it, I`d hate to put something on track that caused someone else to have an incident.

Hopefully we will have ours built for Bedford, if not we may need to pick your brains
