I hope so Dunk. Snetterton will be a big test. The key to this project is economical performance mods.......all lessons learned from the Sierra and with the Golf I have a much, much bigger range of parts to choose from. The way you can transplant parts from newer, faster models certainly helps.

Awesome mate .. can I interest you in a 2nd 16v golf ..... may have one going this sat - a nice 1989 small bumper 3 door 16v ... I say nice, well a bit rusty and battered ... with holey seats .. but a good engine and 4 new tyres.

It's tremendous fun wherever to be honest. Our country back roads are littered with mud, sugar beet pulp and things that generally don't promote grip and yet the Golf is wieldy, talkative and a complete grin

The gearing is very closely stacked so it's a doddle to keep the car bubbling, it even has quite a lot of torque which for an 1800 8v seems daft. I haven't driven the car at properly quick speeds yet so I expect to find out all about new definitions of the word understeer.

I know you're an aggresive driver out on track but I really don't think you need to use your horn to get people to move over :-D
